On Sunday May 23rd Christians celebrate the power of the Holy Spirit in God’s Church.  Show your spirit by wearing something red- sweater, t-shirt, pyjamas?- as you tune in to St Martin’s festive Pentecost Sunday service at 10 am.  Special points for red hats!

Yes, it’s fun to dress up, but there is a deeper theological significance to the colour red in the Church calendar.  Red is the colour of the Holy Spirit.  It reminds us of God’s ongoing work to ignite our hearts with love for others.  Red is a colour that doesn’t let you blend in to a corner and hide.  So after worship, how about going for a walk or an outside visit with someone.  Maybe you will “spark” a conversation or renew a friendship.
