On Saturday May 15, 2021, delegates from all the Anglican parishes in the Lower Mainland will be gathering (virtually) to consult on the business and vision of ministry in our Diocese. Out of the last Synod gathering two years ago came a motion to acknowledge that we are in a climate emergency. As people of faith we have a responsibility to care for creation through our actions. A Climate Emergency Working Group is now bringing recommendations to be considered at this year’s gathering. These include concrete actions such as installing a charging station for electric vehicles at the Synod Office and adopting ethical investment guidelines. One exciting recommendation is a grant to parishes to decrease their carbon footprint or start a community project.
You are invited to read the report of the Working Group and to consider your own stewardship and that of our parish of St. Martin’s.
