Last Sunday we celebrated the Feast of St. Martin and heard again the story of how our patron gave half of his cloak to a beggar. Here’s a photo of our mascot Marty the Goose sharing with a friend. They are able to cuddle up together at a time when we cannot do so with those outside our household. Maybe we all need a stuffed animal to receive an extra hug.
Until we hear about the lifting of restrictions, St. Martin’s is returning to gathering virtually for Sunday service. So far faith communities have done a noble job in keeping to safety protocols. This step is for the sake of all our neighbours in the wider community. We are leading by example: staying connected and holding on to hope even if we cannot physically hold onto each other.
“Let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest-time, if we do not give up.”
