“Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18)
Our two Bible study groups this week ended an exploration of the Book of Ephesians with these words of encouragement. The participants who delved into the Scriptures with me over the last six weeks certainly take them to heart. Churches have a vital role in channeling the power of the Spirit for healing in our world. My thanks to everyone in this community for your prayers.
What we have discovered in conversation is that many of us would like to deepen our relationship with God in prayer. Maybe you would appreciate a little more practice speaking and listening in a safe setting. We all have experiences which we can share with each other, and can bring tools and resources to encourage others.
If you would like to learn more about different spiritual disciplines in a small group this summer, please let me know of your interest. This would be a weekly hour meeting by video or telephone (no computer skills needed!) through Zoom. Depending on responses, the possibilities are Monday afternoons 4:30-5:30 pm or Monday or Wednesday evening 7-8 pm.
