Our Church and Community

Mission

We believe we are sent into the world in God’s name to discover and reveal where God is already bringing reconciliation, love and real peace. Being a member of St Martin’s means finding your place in this mission of God. By our sharing of what God has given us - time, abilities and money - we build each other up and help build the Kingdom of God. We are celebrating the Anglican traditions of:

Worship

We gather around the eucharist, sharing the bread and wine which are for us the body and blood of Christ. Enriched by good music and thoughtful preaching, our services draw on the riches of our tradition to provide 21st century people a place to reflect, a well-spring for refreshment, and food for the journey. As well as Sunday, there are other times for prayer and contemplation.

Fellowship

Wonderful social events & many groups such as the Anglican Church Women, Altar Guild, Women’s Guild, Youth Groups, Servers & Choir. There are many opportunities to meet and enjoy one another's company. We also host other groups such as the Guides, SMP Dramatic Society (famous for the annual pantomimes), Quilters and Garden Clubs.

Outreach

We are not a ‘holy huddle’. We are engaged in care and service across Vancouver, Canada and the world. We learn together about our faith. We listen and share faith with others. We support local agencies such as the Youth Shelter; we send goods to our partners in the North; we raise funds for development across the world and learn from those we support.

Our church has been serving North Vancouver since 1910. Our heritage building is a wonderful place for worship. We also have a modern hall with excellent kitchen which is available to rent for receptions, parties, meetings and other events.

Our facilities are also used by (among others):

Scouts
